Actress Lindsay Lohan began her sentence today on her conviction in a misdemeanor jewelry theft case, Reuters reported. She is expected to serve about 35 days of the four-month sentence, and is serving it under house arrest, the story says.

Lohan reported to jail early Thursday in L.A. and was fitted for an ankle bracelet to monitor her movement. She was released after about an hour for home confinement.

"Ms. Lohan will be under the supervision of the Sheriff’s Department, and her release date is expected to be around June 29," said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore. "She will serve about 35 days on home detention.”

Lohan also has to do 480 hours of community service in the case, and has begun that service at a women’s jail, the story says.
