A former star of “Saturday Night Live” and a two-time Emmy nominee are joining the seventh season of Showtime’s "Weeds," reports TVLine.com.

Comedian Martin Short and actor Aidan Quinn will be featured in story arcs during the new season of the pot-centric show, which will debut June 17. Short will play an eccentric attorney in at least three episodes and Quinn will appear as an investment firm CEO in at least four episodes, the story notes.

The storyline will pick up after Nancy, played by Mary-Louise Parker, has completed a three-year jail term and is released on probation in New York City.

Short had a run on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in the 1980s and went on to a film career, a series of comedy TV specials and other high-profile projects.

Quinn was nominated for Emmys for “An Early Frost” in 1986 and “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” in 2007.

  1. Wow! The show about pot-heads should join with the new adultery reality show- and see how much crossover there is between the stoners and the “non-partner” encounters there might be. Probably be a HUGE hit in Charlie Sheen land!!!
