Thursday Ratings: ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Gives Fox a Win Against Light Competition

The return of Fox’s "So You Think You Can Dance" Thursday night was a ratings success, as Fox wound up with a comfortable win in the 18-49 demo for the night, TVbytheNumbers.com reported. But it helped that all the other networks aired repeat programming.

Fox finished with a 3.2 average rating in adults 18-49, well ahead of CBS (1.7 average), Univision (1.6), ABC (1.0) and NBC (0.9). Total viewers was closer, but Fox came out on top with an average of 9.1 million to 8.1 million for CBS, 4.1 million for ABC, 3.8 million for Univision and 2.4 million for NBC.

At 8 p.m. the first hour of "Dance" averaged a 2.8 in the 18-49 demo. Hour two of "Dance" at 9 p.m. improved to a mean score of 3.6 in the 18-49 demographic.
