Trump Withdraws From Presidential Race

Donald Trump has announced he is calling off his run for president, CNN.com reports. The real estate titan and host of NBC reality show “Celebrity Apprentice” released a statement today saying that even though he remains confident that he could win the election, he will not pursue the office.

“This decision does not come easily or without regret; especially when my potential candidacy continues to be validated by ranking at the top of the Republican contenders in polls across the country,” Trump says in the statement. “I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election.”

Trump added that he will continue to voice his opinions, and that he will eventually back the presidential contender "who is the most qualified to help us tackle our country’s most important issues."

As previously reported, NBC recently announced that it would replace Trump as host of “Celebrity Apprentice” if he decided to run for president.

  1. gee, you think? dumbass…
just responding to the title alone – does anyone even care what the man actually has to say anymore? not that he warranted all that attention in the first place.

  2. When did he announce that he was running now that he is withdrawing? Withdrawing from something he never signed up for? Also only a real phony would spend two months bashing Obama and then in the end intonate that he might vote for him. This guy is a complete joke.

  3. Now that the donald has made public what any sane person already knew, why would NBC not consider weighing the effect of paying “trump-ed up” expenses of producing Celebrity Apprentice on their bottom line, vs going ahead with the program sans the donald? The new version could be a blend of Celebrity Apprentice meets Undercover Boss, using a rotation of other known CEO’s from American business. Comcast execs, listen up, trump is a bill of goods, no more. Save the money and run.
