"Showtime at the Apollo," the long-running syndicated variety show, may be coming back to television, reports Deadline.com.

BET is finalizing a pilot order for the show’s revival, with Jamie Foxx executive producing along with the show’s original executive producer and director, Don Weiner, the story says. If it’s picked up to series, "Showtime" would likely air as a prime-time program.

The program debuted in 1987 and went through several producing teams before ending its run in 2008, ending the tradition of showing acts performing at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater.
