‘X Factor’ Judge Confirmed

May 5, 2011  •  Post A Comment

Simon Cowell has confirmed–after months of speculation–one of the judges for his upcoming singing competition show “The X Factor,” The Guardian reports. The job is going to the person who was widely expected to get it: Cheryl Cole, a singer in the group Girls Aloud and a current judge on the U.K. version of “X Factor.”

It is not known yet whether Cole, who is well-known in the U.K. but less familiar to U.S. viewers, will remain with the U.K. version of the show.

Said Cowell: "I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat. Most importantly, this girl can spot talent."

  1. Simon Cowell deliberately chose celebrities who are less famous than him in America to join his panel so that he would be the undisputed star of the show.

I guess this means we should expect one or two of the following judges from the UK X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent to join the USA X Factor’s judging panel as well:
Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh, Amanda Holden, Michael Mcintyre
