Alec Baldwin has received an endorsement–with a caveat–from New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who responded to speculation that the "30 Rock" star might run for his job, reports the Daily Caller.

On Bloomberg’s weekly radio show, the mayor said, “If he wants to run, great," but added that first Baldwin needs to establish a residence in the city, the story says. "“He’s got time to run, but he’s got to move into the city,” Bloomberg said.

Election officials said Baldwin is registered to vote in Suffolk County and owns an apartment on Central Park West, although his primary residence is in the Hamptons.
