Blockbuster Trust Sued Over Right to Use Name on DVD-Rental Kiosks

A trust created by Blockbuster has been sued by NCR Corp., which wants to continue using the film- and TV-rental company’s name for DVD-rental kiosks, reports Bloomberg.

The suit comes after Dish bought Blockbuster and rejected the NCR contract to use the Blockbuster Express name, which is held by the BB 2009 trust, the story says.

NCR, which builds kiosks that rent DVDs in groceries and convenience stores, has branded more than 9,000 kiosks with the Blockbuster name. An attorney for NCR said the company had spent "significant time and expense" on the kiosks, which provide substantial revenue.

A Dish spokesman said the company was reviewing the lawsuit and didn’t have comment.
