CNN host Eliot Spitzer–who resigned as governor of New York following a sex scandal–said he sympathizes with Anthony Weiner, the congressman who is under fire after revealing he sent risque photos to young women he met via Twitter, reports TVNewser.com.

Mediaite founder Dan Abrams, who is also a legal analyst for ABC News, was on CNN to talk about the media coverage of Weiner, when Abrams turned the questioning to Spitzer, who was interviewing him.

"Let me ask you, I’ll turn the table on you … just quickly … I would think that this is something that you know about," Abrams said, according to the story. Spitzer responded, “I sympathize with Anthony Weiner. I know he is going through torment like virtually no other. But his greatest sin from the perspective of the public was not being truthful at the moment of crisis.”

  1. Spritzer made a great comeback. He’s great on tv. Weiner will get thru this.
