Daytime television talk has a new boss, with a veteran show moving into the No. 1 spot as the most watched daytime talk show now that "The Oprah Winfrey Show" has ended, reports the New York Post.

The new No. 1 is "Dr. Phil"–a show that Winfrey helped get off the ground with appearances by Dr. Phil McGraw on her own show.

For the week of May 30 through June 5, "Dr. Phil" averaged 3.4 million viewers, an increase of 8% from the same period a year earlier. "Oprah," whose finale aired on May 25 and has been pulled off the air in many markets, came in third with an average of 3 million viewers, the story says.

Disney-ABC’s "Live With Regis and Kelly" was in second place, notes B&C.
