Disney Renews Rights with Hulu, Possibly Making Site More Attractive in Sale

The Walt Disney Co., a part owner in Hulu, has renewed rights to television shows with Hulu.com, possibly making the site more attractive in a sale, reports Bloomberg.

The agreement is similar to Hulu’s new pact with another co-owner, News Corp., the story says. The agreements allow more ads to be sold on current shows, such as ABC’s "Modern Family" and Fox’s "Family Guy.”

Currently "Modern Family" airs about 2.5 minutes of ads via Hulu, but on broadcast TV includes 8 minutes of ad time, the story points out.

A Hulu spokeswoman declined to comment, while a Disney representative didn’t respond to requests for comment, the story notes.
