HBO’s app that allows subscribers to watch shows via devices such as iPads and smartphones appears to have reached 3 million downloads over the weekend, reports CNET News.

HBO said it expected to see the 3 millionth download this past weekend of the HBO Go app, which debuted May 2, the story notes. Since there are 28 million HBO subscribers in the U.S., that means about 10% of its customers have tried out the application.

HBO is enticing subscribers by allowing them to watch next week’s episode of "True Blood" starting after the vampire drama’s season debut last night, the story adds.
