Despite angering fans of “Jackass” performer Ryan Dunn with a tweet that many considered insensitive, and despite having his Facebook page briefly suspended, Roger Ebert has continued to to tweet about the star’s death, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I should clarify: Anyone who drinks and drives is a jackass," he tweeted Tuesday. "That included me in my drinking days. Some are lucky enough to find sobriety."

He didn’t mention Dunn by name, although the tweet comes after he caused a backlash on Monday with a tweet that read, “Friends don’t let Jackasses drink and drive."

Dunn, a star of MTV’s "Jackass," was driving 130 mph at the time of the crash, according to police.

Ebert also on Tuesday sent a separate link to a 2009 column titled "My Name Is Roger, and I’m an Alcoholic," about his efforts to stop drinking three decades ago, the story notes.

  1. The idiot was doing 130 when he thankfully left the planet without killing anyone else. Good riddance. You rock, Roger!

  2. JD, are you totally retarded or just partially. His passenger died, thus killing someone else. And speeding is one thing yes, but his toxically results are not back yet and Ebert keeps going off on this guy for being drunk. Yes, he had some drinks that night, but could have been well below the limit by the time he drove. Until this is proven, everyone needs to shut the eff up!

  3. Shut up? Why? He was drinking, and much too much, as demostrated by his red, capillary dilated face and eyes made glassy by alcohol in photos taken within few hours before his death drive, where he was reported by eyewitnesses to have consumed enormous amounts of booze. Moreover, do you think a sober, sane man drives 120mph+ on a twisted, ravinous road? Bye real–he was adrinker, he was reckless, and the two traits combined to form a tragic fatality. Hero worship always gives way to reality–time to grow up.

  4. ‘Bye real’?

  5. Tox is back and guess what? Ebert is correct. Dunn’s BAC was .196, better than twice the legal limit.
Fool was DUI and speeding at 130 mph. And his passenger knew that Dunn was impaired and got in the car with him, so bears responsibility for his own death.
Fortunately, it was just the two of them. Imagine if this fool had taken out an innocent family.

  6. That’s how you snub up THAT DNA chain !! Like someone else said, Thank GOD they didn’t commit genocide on a set of innocents.

  7. Meant, “Be real…” But small point, only of interest to grammar Nazis.
