HBO’s fantasy series "Game of Thrones" ended its first season with its largest audience yet, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.
The Sunday finale drew 3 million total viewers, or about 50% more than the show’s April debut, which had 2 million viewers. During a Sunday encore, an additional 876,000 viewers tuned in to the finale.
Throughout the season, the show, based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series of books, averaged 8.3 million viewers across all platforms, such as on-demand viewings and original airings.
