For the fifth time in the show’s history, the ‘cast’ of MTV’s reality show "Jersey Shore" has been given raises, reports TMZ.com. The new contracts ensure that Snooki, the Situation and the other colorful participants will return for season five.

Reportedly, MTV wanted to film under the same terms as season four, but the lawyers for the principal players balked, forcing the network to sweeten the deals. The bumps in pay were not huge, but they were enough to satisfy the cast.

Most of the cast members had reportedly already signed, with the rest expected to close deals by the end of this week.
