"One of the mothers who shot to fame overnight on MTV’s hit reality show "Teen Mom" was taken to an Indiana hospital after an apparent suicide attempt," ABC News is reporting. However, the story says what it actually has confirmed is that a suicide threat was made; an actual attempt was only reported by another publication.

Says the story, "According to police in Anderson, Ind., Amber Portwood was hospitalized Tuesday morning after threatening to take her life. She’d reportedly fought on the phone with her baby daddy. The report comes just a week after Portwood pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges, after slapping and punching her ex-fiance Gary Shirley, and lost custody of her 2-year-old daughter Leah."

The story says police did not find Portwood injured, though they did take her "to a local hospital for further evaluation."

However, the story adds that the tabloid "Star Magazine reports that Portwood admitted to taking pills on Tuesday, and when paramedics arrived they found her drifting in and out of consciousness. The magazine also reported that rescuers removed a rope from around her neck."

The article notes that MTV released a statement saying, "Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details."

  1. There is nothing good about this show. Everyone involved should be ashamed.

  2. Lemme get this straight…..a TEEN MOM on suicide watch; Hefner cancels his wedding rather than playing out a “ditched at the altar” scenario for TV; a REAL HOUSEWIFE beats the crap out of a stranger. Just this week!
Is this the best we can do? What is next?

  3. Maybe the ratings were down.
