With Kevin Spacey and director David Fincher already on board, Netflix is in talks with a popular film actress for the female lead in its first original series, "House of Cards," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Robin Wright, known for her roles in “Forrest Gump,” “The Princess Bride,” “State of Play” and other movies, would play opposite Spacey in the political thriller, which is based on a book and British miniseries with the same name.

Netflix has pledged $100 million for 26 episodes of the drama and plans to stream the series in late 2012. It would mark Wright’s first regular series role since she played Kelly Capwell on NBC’s "Santa Barbara" in the 1980s–a role that earned Wright three Daytime Emmy nominations for outstanding ingenue.
