In a taped interview that is scheduled to be broadcast on the "Today" show today, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, President Barack Obama said about embattled Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner, “I can tell you that if it was me, I would resign," according to the Today website.

Furthermore, according to the article, Obama continued about Weiner, “When you get to the point where, because of various personal distractions, you can’t serve as effectively as you need to, at the time when people are worrying about jobs, and their mortgages, and paying the bills — then you should probably step back.’’

Obama added, according to the report, that "what Weiner did was ‘highly inappropriate’ and that he has ’embarrassed himself’ and his wife and family, but said it will ultimately come down to a decision by Weiner and his constituents as to whether he will continue in office."

The interview was conducted by new "Today" co-anchor Ann Curry.

  1. Let me get this straight: If you’re distracted from solving economic problems, you should resign. But if you’re totally ineffective at solving economic problems, then you should NOT resign. Seek another term, even. Four more years …. of what?

  2. Um, he’s not an efffing miracle worker, moron.

  3. Poor Doug, he can twist Menudo concert into a Mexican takeover of the USA, but he can’t get his tiny brain around the painfully obvious fact that this economy was caused by Bush-Chaney’s greed for more power and money for themselves and their sleazy oil toadies. The good news, psychokittyface, is that more and more of those misguided chumps are beginning to see and seek the truth.
