Player for Newly Crowned NBA Champs Arrested

One of the players for the Dallas Mavericks, who were crowned NBA champions earlier this week after they wrapped up a series win over the Miami Heat, was arrested on Tuesday night in Irving, Texas, for alleged public intoxication, reports TMZ.com.

DeShawn Stevenson, a guard who was an an integral part of the defense that shut down LeBron James and the Heat, was reportedly found by police while wandering around an apartment complex . Stevenson claimed that he was lost, according to the report.

Stevenson allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was booked by the police when officers deemed him "a danger to himself and others."

Stevenson posted bail and was released.
