Donald Trump’s Miss USA pageant on NBC saw a ratings surge over last year’s broadcast, tying its highest rating in six years, MediaLife reported.

Sunday’s telecast drew a 2.2 rating among viewers 18 to 49 years old, a 57% increase from last year.

Among total viewers, the show averaged 7.2 million people, marking its best performance in four years, the story notes, citing Nielsen overnights.

The broadcast last year was crimped by its airing during the regular TV season, when it competed against hit shows such as CBS’s "Survivor" finale and ABC’s "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," the story adds.
