Booing is apparently banned on "X Factor," as a recent round of auditions featured a warmup guy who warned the audience that the show is "supportive," according to a piece in EW.com’s Inside TV blog.

Audience members are encouraged to remain silent as a form of protest in the face of a poor performance, the story says. Nevertheless, the crowd in the New Jersey round did snicker and groan at some performers, the piece notes.

Some performers were also given second chances, with one group from the first set of auditions invited back to the second taping with instructions for improving their performances.
