Snopp Dogg has received interest from a couple of networks–and disinterest from others–on a pitch to create a rap version of "American Idol," reports the New York Post’s Page Six.
E! and MTV are said to be interested. The rapper’s pitch for a TV series designed to find the next big hop-hop act reportedly didn’t go over as well with Oxygen, Bravo or NBC.
Snoop has also been working on putting together a celebrity panel of hip-hop judges who would mentor the young competitors on the program.
Rapper Wiz Khalifa is reportedly interested, and Snoop Dogg also wants to get Jay-Z for the show. Jay-Z’s representative denied that his client is involved in the project.
