ABC has given a put pilot commitment to a pilot for a multicamera comedy that will put a country music superstar in the spotlight, Deadline.com reports.

The show is “Malibu Country,” which will bring country singer Reba McEntire back to TV sitcoms. McEntire and her former showrunner/writer Kevin Abbott — they did "Reba" for the WB — are reteaming for the new effort.

The plot concerns McEntire’s fictional life after her country-rocker hubby runs around on her and leaves her busted. She divorces him and exits Nashville with her three kids for a little place in Malibu, where she recharges her music career and tries to keep from getting caught up in the Hollywood lifestyle.
