As illustrated with the just announced list of participants on ABC’s upcoming fall edition of "Dancing with the Stars," we are in danger of celebrating folks who many wouldn’t really consider celebrities.

In his latest entry, TVWeek Open Mic blogger Chuck Ross reveals a call to action that he stumbled across recently that would rectify this problem.

  1. Celebrity simply means someone who’s name is recognizable by a large number of people. It doesn’t denote any particular abilities or talent.
