Kirstie Alley’s Outrageous ‘Demand’ for 9/11 Tribute — and Why She Didn’t Get Her Wish

Kirstie Alley allegedly made a diva-like demand in the run-up to a Long Island 9/11 tribute on Sunday, only to have the idea shot down for security reasons, reports the New York Post.

Sources said Alley wanted a helicopter landing for her entrance to the event, but was informed that it wasn’t possible to charter a helicopter because of airspace restrictions for Sept. 11, the story says.

An event organizer said Alley "almost canceled the appearance because she couldn’t get a helicopter," the story notes. Alley’s representative had a different take, saying the actress was "simply exploring all options of transportation," according to the article.

Alley ended up arriving by car with fellow “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Nicole Scherzinger, the piece adds.
