NBC, which has the NFL regular season opener scheduled for Thursday night, has announced some programming changes to accommodate a key jobs speech by President Obama, NBCSports.com reports.

Obama will address a joint session of Congress at 7 p.m. ET, around the same time that pregame programming is scheduled to gear up before the kickoff of the Packers-Saints game. NBC will carry the speech live on the broadcast network, moving its "NFL Kickoff 2011 Presented by EA Sports" programming to cable channels USA, Syfy, G4, NFL Network and Versus.

The other major broadcast networks are also expected to carry the speech.

The game will be broadcast on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
