A new drama that’s in the pipeline at ABC Family is getting some help as it works its way through the usual bumps in the road on the way to becoming a series.

Joining the team behind “Strut” is Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of the beloved "Gilmore Girls," Deadline.com reports. Sherman-Palladino has reportedly reworked Lamar Damon’s original script about a former showgirl who attempts to revamp a struggling Texas high school drill team.

The ‘Gilmore Girls” vet will now executive produce as well, along with Karey Burke, Charlie Stratton, Norman Buckley and Anna Mastro.

If everything passes muster, ABC Family is ready to order a pilot for the hourlong drama. Another close-to-approval is being issued for "Intercept," about college hackers.
