For actor Nicolas Cage, his newest movie sounds a bit like art imitating life. Cage, in Toronto with “Trespass” director Joel Schumacher to promote the new thriller, talked about a frightening event in his own life that has some parallels in the movie, Reuters reports.
“I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgsicle in front of my bed," Cage said, recalling an incident that started as he was sleeping at home in California. "I know it sounds funny … but it was horrifying.”
According to the report: “Cage said the ordeal ended after he talked the man out of the house and police arrived. He did not press charges, as the man had mental problems, but Cage, who now lives in Nassau, Bahamas, said he could not stay in the house after that.”
“Trespass,” which also stars Nicole Kidman, involves a home invasion in which Cage’s character and his family are held for ransom, the story notes.
