"Need to Know," the Friday newsmagazine from PBS, is tapping a rotating group of guest hosts after its anchor Alison Stewart departed Friday, reports Elizabeth Jensen in The New York Times.

Scott Simon, the host of NPR’s "Weekend Edition Saturday," will fill in this week, followed by Maria Hinojosa, the former “Now on PBS” correspondent, and Ray Suarez, a senior correspondent for "The PBS NewsHour.” Jeff Greenfield, who started out in public television but was most recently senior political correspondent for CBS News, will be a fourth guest host, the article notes.

The program will also have other changes, including cutting its running time to a half-hour from one hour and focusing more on politics, the story adds.
