A critically acclaimed novel about a 12-year-old alligator wrestler has been picked up by HBO, which will work with producer Scott Rudin to adapt the book, Karen Russell’s "Swamplandia,” into a half-hour comedy project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project is searching for a writer, according to the piece. Rudin, who produced the feature film "The Social Network," has several projects at HBO, including the cable-news drama with Jeff Daniels from Aaron Sorkin, the story notes.
