CBS has ordered a multicamera sitcom starring and produced by an actor with a growing list of TV credits including “Sliders,” “Crossing Jordan” and, most recently, CBS’s short-lived “The Defenders.”
Deadline.com reports that the untitled project from Jerry O’Connell focuses on parenthood, drawing from the personal life of O’Connell, a father of 2-year-old twins.
O’Connell said he had been thinking of translating his parenting experiences into a TV show and liked the tone of Adam Mansbach’s "Go the F**k to Sleep," a "bedtime book for parents," the story says.
The project stars O’Connell, with the script to be co-written by Mansbach and Jeff Astrof of "The New Adventures of Old Christine," the piece adds. Astrof is also showrunner and executive producer, with Michael Rotenberg and Richard Abate also executive producing.
O’Connell and Mansbach will co-exec produce, with CBS TV Studios and 3 Arts producing.
