A movie about MTV is currently being shopped around Hollywood by CAA as a feature film project, reports the New York Post.
The project is based on the book "I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution," by Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum. The book just came out today, the story notes.
The 600-page tome is an oral history, along the lines of the ESPN book "Those Guys Have All the Fun" — which is also being proffered as a major motion picture.
According to Tannenbaum, the book "charts MTV’s inauspicious launch, early financial stumbles, near failure, eventual world domination, and sudden switch away from music videos."
