A feature film producer best known for "The Matrix" series is bringing a TV drama series to HBO based on the book "Unreal Estate: Money, Ambition and the Lust for Land in Los Angeles," reports Deadline.com.

Joel Silver, who also has been involved in producing the “Lethal Weapon” and “Die Hard” action film series, is behind the project. Written by Michael Gross, the book is the story of 16 estates in L.A.’s richest communities and the people who owned them and lived in them.

The names connected to the properties include such stars as Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Harold Lloyd and Sonny and Cher.

Silver is in talks to executive produce the series for HBO and a writer is being sought to adapt the book for television.
