NBC has given a put pilot commitment to a single-camera sitcom from a former speech writer for President Obama, a Tony-nominated star of “Book of Mormon” and the director of “Modern Family,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“1600 Penn,” from 20th Century Fox TV, is about a dysfunctional family living in the White House. It comes from actor Josh Gad, writer Jon Lovett and director Jason Winer, all of whom will executive produce, the story reports.
Gad, who is now filming “Thanks for Sharing” with Gwyneth Paltrow, has another project in development with NBC — a family road sitcom, the story notes.
