NBC Unveils Details of ‘Rock Center’ Premiere

NBC’s newsmagazine "Rock Center with Brian Williams" will debut on Halloween at 10 p.m., with the first episode looking at antigovernment activists in Syria and the one place in the U.S. with a negative unemployment rate, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Another piece will report on efforts by Chinese women to gain U.S. citizenship, the report says.

"Rock Center" will have a hard-news edge, the story says. NBC realizes the show may take time to get established, the piece adds.

"We’re not doing this as a ratings play. We’re not kidding ourselves, we know it’s going to take some time to get established," NBC News President Steve Capus said earlier this week, according to the article.

"Rock Center" replaces "The Playboy Club," which was canceled after three episodes.

  1. I am finally excited about something airing on NBC besides Sunday Night Football!
I enjoy Brian Williams and an anxious to see the new show and enjoy the “hard news edge” on stories being reported.
    Good luck, Brian!

  2. Thank you NBC for putting a SUBSTANTIAL news program on the air, as opposed to another Hollywood Insider, TMZ, or their ilk. I have already set my DVR.

  3. Real news? Be still my heart!!! Have you seen the Today show or GMA these days? You’d hardly know them from Hard Copy or Access Hollywood. I’m so watching Rock Center!
