NBC is flooding its prime-time schedule with episodes of one of its new shows next week, hoping the programming stunt — in which “Prime Suspect” will be on the air five nights of the week — will generate viewer attention for the police drama, reports Joe Adalian in New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

The network will air repeats of “Prime Suspect” on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 p.m., with a new episode airing Thursday at 10 p.m., the piece notes. Another repeat airs Saturday at 9 p.m.

The stunt "could give ‘Prime Suspect’ some much needed exposure (and buzz) as the do-or-die November sweeps kick off. NBC previously signaled its love for the show by ordering six extra scripts, but it has yet to green-light production on those episodes," Adalian writes.

  1. This might actually work. I didn’t tune into this show until the 3rd ep, but was surprised that the writing and acting was better than I expected.

  2. Yeah, it’s actually a pretty decent show. Worth checkign out at least once.
