NBCUniversal promoted from within to fill the position of president of cable and new media distribution, Deadline.com reports.
Stepping up to the position is Frances Manfredi, who has been executive VP and general sales manager for cable and non-theatrical sales for NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution since 2007, the story says.
Ted Harbert, chairman, NBC Broadcasting, and Rick Finkelstein, vice chairman and COO, Universal Studios, made the announcement today. Manfredi will report to Harbert and Finkelstein.
She will continue to work with Barry Wallach, president, domestic television distribution, and will continue to oversee all of the company’s non-theatrical distribution business.
In her tenure at NBCU, Manfredi has been responsible for deals in both television and film, including the off-net sale of shows such as "30 Rock," "Law & Order," "House," "Las Vegas" and "The Office," as well as the sale of Universal Pictures’ 2011 and 2009 slates to USA Network, the story notes.
