‘X Factor’ Building on Early Success, Pushes Fox to Tuesday Ratings Win

Tuesday was a good night for Fox in the ratings, with a two-hour installment of Simon Cowell’s "The X Factor" topping the Nielsen ratings for the night, reports TVbytheNumbers.com.

Fox finished the night with a 4.3 average rating in the 18-49 demo, topping CBS (3.4 average), ABC (2.3) and NBC (1.6). CBS did take a win in total viewers, averaging 15.4 million for the night to 11.8 million for Fox, 10.6 million for ABC and 4.6 million for NBC.

Airing from 8-10 p.m. "The X Factor" averaged a series-high 4.3 in the 18-49 demographic, up 10% from last week.

At 8 p.m. CBS’s "NCIS" was also strong, pulling in a 4.0 in the same demo for the hour. ABC’s "Last Man Standing" and "Man Up" had a 2.8 and 1.9, respectively. NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” settled for a 1.9 for its two-hour airing.

At 9 p.m. CBS’s "NCIS: Los Angeles" logged a 3.7, easily beating the results show of ABC’s "Dancing With the Stars," with a 2.5, both in the 18-49 demographic.

CBS’s "Unforgettable" was No. 1 at 10 p.m. with a 2.5 in the 18-49 demographic, over ABC’s "Body of Proof" with a 1.9.
