The father of an actress and singer who appears on Fox’s "Glee" has been stabbed to death, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Police said Ricky Pempengco, 40, was at a store when he accidentally brushed against a drunk man, who then stabbed him with an ice pick in the chest and back, the story says. Pempengco is the father of "Glee" actress Charice Pempengco.

The stabbing occurred Monday in the Philippines, where Ricky Pempengco lived, according to the report. An investigation found that the killing was apparently random, the article adds.

“I loved him and I will still love him. He’s still my dad, after all,” the 19-year-old "Glee" singer said. She and her father were estranged, the piece adds.

Charice Pempengco plays Sunshine Corazon, a recurring character on the show. She has reportedly canceled her work schedule and returned to the Philippines since the stabbing.
