An executive who was with HBO for 33 years before departing in July has accepted a job in the NBCUniversal corporate family, B&C reports.

Ross Greenburg, the former president of HBO Sports, will produce documentaries for the NBC Sports Group, providing programming for NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus), Golf Channel and NBC, the story reports.

In his new role, Greenburg will also produce "Costas Tonight," the new monthly interview show to be hosted by Bob Costas. Greenburg collaborated with Costas at HBO on the shows "On the Record" and "CostasNOW."

In a statement, Mark Lazarus, NBC Sports Group chairman, said: "Ross is a master storyteller and a perfect fit to produce high-quality, relevant programming for all of our platforms, particularly NBC Sports Network and Golf Channel. His award-winning collaborative relationship with Bob made the decision to retain Ross to oversee production of ‘Costas Tonight’ a natural."
