MSNBC is reportedly keeping a high-profile political analyst off the air just as he’s making the rounds to promote his new book, TVNewser reports.

Pat Buchanan has been on the other major cable news networks with his book "Suicide of a Superpower," but can’t get on his own network because of the views he expresses in the book, the story reports.

The book has drawn the ire of activist groups including CREDO Action and ColorofChange.org, which sent a petition to MSNBC demanding that the network dump Buchanan because of his “long history of bigoted rhetoric."

TVNewser reports that Buchanan’s viewpoint expressed in the new tome is described on Amazon.com this way: "America was born a Western Christian republic but is being transformed into a multiracial, multicultural, multilingual, multiethnic stew of a nation that has no successful precedent in the history of the world."
