NBC has ordered a pilot for a family comedy with a magical twist, Deadline.com reports. The project is based on a French-Canadian series, "Le Monde de Charlotte," and focuses on a magical girl living in a normal family.
The NBC project, "Isabel," comes from producer Aaron Kaplan and has an ordinary middle-class family raising a daughter with magical talents, the story says. Casting is slated to begin immediately, and the pilot will be filmed in Los Angeles.
The project joins other magical-themed shows that are popular on TV at the moment, such as ABC’s "Once Upon a Time," the story notes.
