Following price increases by Netflix and Redbox, another DVD rental service is readying its own price increace, Bloomberg reports.
Blockbuster is raising some DVD rental prices for its Blockbuster Express kiosks, the story reports.
The rental fee for releases that have been in the kiosks for 29 days to 90 days will double to $2, while customers who keep DVDs longer will be charged a $1-per-day fee, which will become effective Nov. 8, the story says.
About 70% of the kiosk movies will remain at $1 per day, according to the article. Blockbuster Express charges $3 for the first day of renting releases that have been out for less than 30 days, the story adds.
NCR operates the kiosks and licenses the Blockbuster name from Dish Network, which bought the chain of movie-rental stores earlier this year.
