One of the most recognizable hosts on prime-time TV is set to get into motion picture production.
"The busiest man in Hollywood just got a little busier," writes Lacey Rose in The Hollywood Reporter. "Ryan Seacrest is producing his first film, a romantic comedy with co-producer Reese Witherspoon. The still untitled project, which will be produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Witherspoon’s Type A Films in association with Universal, will be written by ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ scribe Krista Vernoff."
The story adds that news of this project "comes mere days after Vernoff had sold a legal drama with a supernatural twist to CBS. The project pairs Vernoff, whose other small screen credits include ‘Charmed’ and ‘Private Practice,’ with producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly."
Seacrest, the popular host of "American Idol," also has a syndicated radio show and produces other shows for TV. Witherspoon won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the Johnny Cash biopic "Walk the Line."
