Actors from “Scrubs” and “Glee” have signed on with an upcoming sitcom pilot for the USA Network, Deadline.com reports.

Cheyenne Jackson, who was recently on Fox’s “Glee,” and Ken Jenkins, best known from his stint on the hit NBC comedy "Scrubs," join Nathan Lane on the still untitled pilot. Douglas McGrath, of "Bullets Over Broadway" fame, will write and direct.

The story focuses on Lane’s character, a struggling New York actor whose dreams of Broadway are derailed when he has to return home to Texas to care for his ailing father.

In a statement, USA Senior Vice President, Original Scripted Programming, Bill McGoldrick said: “It was a tremendous casting session. It is rare that you pick two people in the first casting session, and the runner-ups were very strong, too.”
