One of the original cast members of NBC’s "Saturday Night Live” will become a regular on a CBS drama, Deadline.com reports.

Jane Curtin, who was one of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players when "Saturday Night Live” premiered in 1975, is joining the rookie show “Unforgettable," the story reports.

The show, which stars Poppy Montgomery as a detective who remembers everything, will feature Curtin as an inspector who was demoted to New York City’s Queens police department for speaking her mind one too many times, the story says.

Her character also teaches a class on Romantic poetry, the piece adds. The role represents a rare step into drama for Curtin, who starred on comedy shows such as "Kate & Allie" and "3rd Rock from the Sun," the article points out.
