The star of a cult comedy series says he has his sights set on a movie version of the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Flight of the Conchords" co-star Bret McKenzie said: "We’re gonna try and do a movie. We just need a story," according to the piece.

The HBO series, based on a struggling New Zealand-based musical duo of the same name, premiered in 2007, and featured McKenzie along with partner Jemaine Clement.

McKenzie made the comment at the premiere of "The Muppets" film, for which he served as music supervisor.
