Discovery’s "American Chopper" has invited a high-profile guest to appear in a two-night special, but one of the show’s stars isn’t happy about it. Paul Teutul Sr. says it wasn’t his idea to invite Jesse James, the ex-husband of Sandra Bullock, to appear on the show, reports the Los Angeles Times.

"I would not have invited [James] because he’s a jerk," Teutul said in an interview. "The way he’s coming off, it’s like he’s doing us a favor."

The idea to feature James was Discovery’s, which also aired James’ motorcycle program, "Monster Garage," the story says. That show ended in 2006. James is working on a pilot for a new show that could be on TV as soon as late spring 2012, the piece adds.

James said his notorious exploits, detailed in tabloid gossip pages, were the result of his feeling "miserable" while living a celebrity life, the story says. "I became a big shot and married some Hollywood actress and didn’t talk to anybody anymore, so I feel bad," he said, according to the piece.

James said his fans are ready for him to return to TV. "I think people are tired of hearing about my personal life and ready to see me work again," he said, according to the article.
