A television personality who recently revealed she has breast cancer now says she will undergo a double mastectomy, The Huffington Post reports.

Reality star Giuliana Rancic, recently one of the hosts of E! News and the co-star of the reality show "Giuliana & Bill," appeared on NBC’s "Today" this morning to talk about her decision. In October, Rancic was on "Today" to reveal her breast cancer diagnosis, and at that point it was reported that she needed only a double lumpectomy.

Because of the nature of the disease, Rancic has opted for the more radical procedure. She said, "At the end, all it came down to was choosing to live and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life."

She also explained that the couple still want to have a child. "If I had chosen to just have another lumpectomy … then I would have to put off having a baby for several years," she said.

The odds of cancer returning after the double mastectomy are less than 1%, according to Rancic. "For me, it was very important just to get the cancer out," she explained.
