Did Cablevision Breach Executive’s Contract? Analyst Says Company Should Explain What Went Wrong

A top media analyst says Cablevision Chief Executive Jim Dolan should explain why the company is losing Chief Operating Officer Tom Rutledge, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.

News broke this week that Rutledge will take the job of CEO of Cablevision rival Charter Communications, as previously reported.

BTIG analyst Rich Greenfield wrote, "We believe something really bad transpired between Jim Dolan and Tom Rutledge in recent weeks," the Times story notes.

Greenfield suggests that somehow Rutledge’s contract was breached, allowing him to move to a rival cable company despite having two years on his contract.
